Jonathan Haines is the executive vice president of the Virginia Institute for Public Policy, a leading independent, nonpartisan organization dedicated to advancing public policy aligned with the Virginia principles of individual liberty, entrepreneurial capitalism, private property, the rule of law, and constitutionally limited government.

With a robust background in policy and political campaigns at various government levels, Jonathan brings a wealth of experience in the legislative and political arenas. His expertise extends from the local to the federal level, showcasing a deep understanding of the American political landscape.

Having transitioned into the liberty movement in 2013, Jonathan’s contributions in the private sector focused on government affairs and corporate relations. His public sector experience as a legislative staffer further enhances his comprehensive perspective on legislative and policy matters.

Jonathan’s qualifications uniquely position him to excel in fostering network collaboration, strategic messaging, and enhancing organizational capacity. His track record in both public and private sectors underscores his capability to navigate complex political landscapes and contribute to effective policy and organizational development.

As the proud parent of four sons, with three currently serving in the United States Armed Forces,  Jonathan embodies a commitment to service and community. Beyond his professional role, he actively engages as a community member, church participant, homeschooling father, and volunteer youth leader.  Jonathan’s passion for travel, often undertaken with his family, reflects his appreciation for diverse perspectives and experiences.
