George “Trip” McIngvale is a deputy director for the Election Integrity Network (EIN), a project of the Virginia Institute for Public Policy. A native of Houston, Trip is EIN’s Deputy Director for Texas.
A West Point graduate, Trip retired from the U.S. Army after serving as a Special Forces officer. During his 20-year career as a Ranger and Green Beret, Trip conducted seven combat deployments and received multiple awards including a Bronze Star for Valor. He received a master’s degree in National Security and Middle Eastern Affairs at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
After retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2019, Trip worked on special projects within the private sector and founded his own cyber security company. His experience leading teams, information gathering, and logistics makes him a perfect fit to engage and connect Texans who share his passion for growing an effective election integrity effort in the Lone Star State.
Texas is the second largest state in the nation both by population and size. Diverse in both geography and demographics, it is also well known for its pride and patriotism. Although there are many individuals and organizations working in its 254 counties, there is no one platform that brings these election integrity advocates together to collaborate, share resources, and amplify each other’s efforts.
After retiring from the US Army and “going home” to Texas, Trip quickly learned from his family and community that there were serious concerns about the safety and security of Lone Star elections.
Starting with Election Integrity Network in early 2023 as its Deputy Director for Texas, Trip is determined to make sure that his state is “doing it right” when it comes to protecting all voters and ensuring that election procedures are administered according to law.
In May of 2023, Trip launched a statewide effort to bring Lone Star election integrity advocates together through the EIN platform. From this call, in collaboration with coalition partners, stakeholders, and a fair elections cabinet, Trip will be knitting together advocates from all over the state to create a fair elections coalition to fit the beloved expression that “everything is
bigger in Texas!”
Trip joined the Virginia Institute and EIN team in 2023.
